With more than three decades of history,
the Taichung Airport has maintained and added
to its facilities to meet world standards.
In order to improve aviation safety, the airport
has upgraded and increased its facilities
and services based on the modifications of
international civil aviation regulations.
The airport has attempted to create a convenient, efficent
and comfortable environment for passengers. According to the
following short-, mid- and long-term plans,
the airport has thoroughly planned out its
development after moving to the new Qingquangang terminal:
Short-Term Development Plan:
- To accelerate 『the 1st phase expansion
of the Central Taiwan International Airport』
- To reinforce the security surveillance
system
Mid-Term Development Plan:
- To accomplish the term and term
planning for the Central Taiwan International
Airport
- Coordinate the establishment of MRT stations
for the greater Taichung area and improve
the outbound traffic.
Long-Term Development Plan:
- To develop the Central Taiwan International
Airport as a passenger and cargo transfer
destination.
- To give an overall review of the civil
aviation development and the use of land.
- To generate a niche for economic development in central Taiwan conjunction to Taichung Port, Central Taiwan Science
Park, Taiwan High Speed Rail and MRT.
