After take-off, the operation and navigation of the airplane relies on aviation electronic equipment. Any slight disturbance will affect accuracy and lead to flight safety incidents.  To maintain flight safety, Article 43 of the Civil Aviation Law stipulates that utilization of electronic devices which interfere with aviation communication is prohibited during flight.  According to Article 102 of the Civil Aviation Law, violators are subject to prison sentences of under five years, detention or fines under NT$150,000.  For cases that lead to fatal incidents, violators will be subject to life imprisonment or sentences of seven or more years.
