Flight Security Guidelines

Check-in Baggage

For domestic flights, the free baggage allowance for most airlines is about 10kgs for each passenger. The allowance for carry-on baggage is one piece of less than 7kgs. The size should not exceed 23cm x35cm x55cm.  * Rules on sizes and weights for check-in and carry-on baggage vary among different airlines. Please check with airlines in advance for more information.
Airlines are entitled to refuse baggage which comes with incomplete packaging, or which is fragile and prone to be damaged.

Gasoline, diesel, cleaning solvents, kerosene, butane, spray paint, large amounts of simple plastic lighters, matches, industrial solvents and other liquids which are flammable below room temperature

Various poisonous chemicals, toxic gases, cyanide, herbicides, pesticides, live virus cultures and so on
Radioactive materials
lonized radioactivematerials such as uranium, iodine, cesium, cobalt and tritium, nuclides
Strong oxidants
Substances that produce severe oxidation such as bleach water, bleach powder, wet cell batteries and industrial hydrogen peroxide
Suitcases with anti-theft alarm and other objects which may affect flight security are prohibited to be carried onto the plane or shipped via check-in baggage

After take-off, the operation and navigation of the airplane relies on aviation electronic equipment. Any slight disturbance will affect accuracy and lead to flight safety incidents.  To maintain flight safety, Article 43 of the Civil Aviation Law stipulates that utilization of electronic devices which interfere with aviation communication is prohibited during flight.  According to Article 102 of the Civil Aviation Law, violators are subject to prison sentences of under five years, detention or fines under NT$150,000.  For cases that lead to fatal incidents, violators will be subject to life imprisonment or sentences of seven or more years.

Mobile phones, CD players, remote controls, pagers, laptop computers and peripherals, FM radios,electric razors, radio transceivers, VCRs, video players, TV sets, video games, electronic calculators and video cameras.

Other Security Issues

After you enter the passenger cabin and sit down, please buckle up your safety belt.
Adjust the belt to the proper fit and make sure it functions normally.
Before take-off, flight attendants will play a video, or demonstrate emergency rescue procedures in person.
Please watch carefully and refer to the printed materials in the pocket in front of you.
